The Battle: Heats & Final
Has it really been a year since Eric Unseen played their way to victory at the 2011 CLIConline / Merthyr Rock Battle Of The Bands to perform with Ocean Colour Scene and many others on the main stage at the Merthyr Rock festival?
Well, yes it has friends, and the time has rolled around for us to once again throw the gig venue doors wide open and invite entries for the 2012 battle.
Prizes this year will include, once again, slots on the bill at Merthyr Rock, a Dean guitar, a shedload of CLIC goodies and much, much more.
We can now announce that heats will take a place at:
- Soar Chapel, Merthyr Tydfil - Friday 3 August
- Bogiez, Cardiff - Thursday 9 August
- Sin City, Swansea - Friday 10 August
- Hobo's, Bridgend - Saturday 11 August
- Galeri, Caernarfon - TBC
The final will take place at Ebbw Vale Institute on Friday 17 August.
Shortlisting will be decided by online voting, after which a panel of music industry judges will whittle down the final five for each heat.

Email a link to your MySpace, Facebook, SoundCloud etc page (which must include at least one full track, a biography and a photo) to botb@cliconline.co.uk.

"Hey Ryan, Scott here from Eric Unseen. The advice we'd give to this years entrants is to just enjoy the experience of playing with other great local talent! It's also a really good platform to get your music out to new people and there is no other prize like it in Wales. To play alongside some of our musical heroes was an opportunity that never really happens and we're all really appreciative and lucky to have been involved in the competition!We owe a lot to clic for including us in last years BOTB and now have built up a fan base just from opening Merthyr Rock last year! I cant wait for this event, i went to last years merthyr rock festival and it was awesome i thoroughly enjoyed it roll on merthyr rocks 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! saw lots of amazing bands and looking forward to seeing some awesome bands this year :)
