Yn Gymraeg

This week, CLIC is at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Swansea. Each day, one of our writers will be sharing their experience of the festival. These are the Urdd Eisteddblogs, and this is Han blogging on day three...

Wicid.tv has been at the Urdd Eisteddfod today with CLIC, the online magazine for young people in Wales.

And what a day it has been!

From starting off at eight in the morning, and travelling to Swansea, and finally arriving at ten for the press conference, it has been a busy day.

But one that has been truly enjoyable! It was fantastic to see so many people around the maes, celebrating and taking part in such a creative, talented event. From singers to dancers, piano playing and acting in the main pavilion, there was so much to see and do.

There were stands for the shoppers who love to shop. From the perfect dress to people who love to read, there was something for everyone of all ages. There was also an opportunity for parents to take part in picking up the Welsh language. Lisa Jones, the author of Welsh For Parents, has specifically written the book to help parents who wish to learn Welsh with their children.

But for me it was a matter of meeting, by chance, my old (well not so old) teachers from school who I haven’t seen since leaving. It was great to see them and chat about school and the future.

It was also amazing to see famous people wandering around the maes enjoying the festival. I shook hands with Paul John the Pontypridd RFC coach, who I couldn’t believe was there. Also Wicid and CLIC’s friend the Children’s Commissioner For Wales, Keith Towler, was also walking around taking in the atmosphere.

Rapsgaliwn was also about the maes and had time to pose for a quick photo. But best of all I met the man of the week, Mr Urdd who was making the most of the day just like everybody else.
