  • Most towns have a Community Education Centre which offers part time day and evening courses for adults.

  • Courses offered vary, but include subjects like languages, art and craft, cookery, computer skills, landscape gardening, dance and martial arts as well

  • You may have to pay a small fee to attend these courses but if you are on benefits you will probably get them free.

  • Community education can be a great way of getting out and meeting people in your local area and learning new skills at the same time.

  • Other options for adult learners include attending your local college or studying through distance or e-learning - have a look at our articles on these for more information.
