Adult Learners Week – Health & Well being Day!
Look out for the
Programme for WEDNESDAY 19th May 2010. Activities based around Health
and Wellbeing will be delivered from Teify House and Tenants &
Residents base in Maerdy. Activities start at 10am with Healthy Eating
on a Budget, followed by Sexual Health information and Advice for
PARENTS, how to make a Healthy Packed Lunch at Tenants and Residents
Base followed by after school Smoothies and 60 Active Minutes. Join us
for a fun filled information day. For more information contact the

New Office Hours
We have set up an outreach office
at the Tenants & Residents Base in Maerdy, so the Teify House
Office will not be open as usual. Our new office hours are: Monday:
Tenants and Residents base 2-4. Thursday: Tenants & Residents
10-12. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Teify House Office open as usual
for information and advice.
Maerdy Walking Group - Mondays @11am
Do
you want to walk with others? Meet at Teify House - walks vary in
length to cater for individual fitness and ability. Everyone is
welcome.
Rhondda Food Bank
Are you struggling financially?
Benefits not come delayed? Are you in debt? The Rhondda Food bank can
help in times of crisis. Maerdy C1st is part of the scheme. How it
works: Come to the C1st office, we fill in a voucher for you and
contact the Food bank – you will then get a parcel of food to last you
and your family for 3 days.
Help combat local poverty – re-use locally!
Local
independent Charity toogoodtowaste is asking residents, housing
associations and landlords to donate more domestic electrical
appliances for re-use, to help others in Rhondda Cynon Taf and reduce
climate change. If you have an electrical appliance that is too good to
waste…… then ring the Charity on 01443 680090 for a free collection.
Showrooms are open 9 – 4.00p.m. Mon – Fri (Ynyshir also open Saturday)

Coedwig Fach Y Maerdy - Woodland Fire:
The
community would like to say a special thanks to Toni Pugh of Miles
Street, for her quick thinking that saved the Maerdy Community Woodland
from a devastating fire. By calling the Fire Service promptly and the
fire was put out before too much damage was sustained. If you would
