Maerdy Youth Club
The Centre is situated in the grounds of Ferndale Community School, in the village of Maerdy at the top end of the Rhondda Fach. We welcome young people, aged 11 – 25 to come along with their friends to enjoy the facilities.
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6:30 to 9:00pm offering a varied programme including football, rugby, art, craft, dance, music, pool, table tennis, minor games and discussion.
If you want to surf the net or catch up with that piece of homework we have a five station computer suite, but if all this activity doesn’t suit you then you can watch TV, listen to music or just chat with your friends.
At the Centre we will help you to organise the types of event you want. The possibilities are as wide as sitting talking to youth workers about the things than interest you, to arranging a weekend away, a BBQ or a trip to the cinema. We realise that whatever we do must be what you want to do and most of all it must be fun.
Last year we ran two weekend trips to the Forest of Dean and the Isle of Wight and several trips to the cinema, ice skating and bowling.
So you see, you can call in with your friends to play pool, listen to music or do much, much more, so why not come along and see if it’s for you!!!
