During the October half term the Bryn celynnog cluster did a range of activities such as the ‘Photo-marathon’, ‘White Water Rafting’ and ‘Café Rana (Café drop-in).
It all kicked off on the Monday with the ‘Photo-marathon’. The young people were given disposable cameras and given a set of topics which they were required to cover.
The young people were also given a bus pass to enable them to jump on a bus and travel anywhere around Cardiff/Newport. They were also given maps, with points of interest that might be worth while having a look at. Some of the young people travelled down to Barry, and others went down to the Bay. During the day we had so many text to say ‘We are lost’ which was so funny, as it was apart of the experience. The young people had to check-in at certain points of the day, to enable them to get the next set of topics, but enable us to know they were safe.
It was a great day, and the young people were really glad they had the chance to try something new.
The photos will now be developed and judged and there will be a first, second and third prize, who’s photographs will be displayed in the Life Long Learning Centre in Church Village in January.
Then Tuesday was also a busy day with White Water Rafting down at Cardiff Bay, which was eventful, followed by a Café drop-in at (Café Rana) in Tonteg, which was just a drop-in for young people, who were able to have free hot and cold drinks, play some card games, listen to some music and just have a chat.

Got something to say?
