With a title reminiscent of the classic Shakespeare masterpiece that is “Taming the Shrew” This adaptation takes an old idea and gives it a different flavour all together.
Valleys Kids; A Welsh Valleys based charity working with young children in Rhydyfelin, Penygraig and Penyrenglyn are working in association with Dr Rea Dennis, to create a performance to be showcased on the 19th of February.
The definitive article and unique angle of this work, is that it is not too be performed traditionally, But with physical drama, expressing the exciting story through movement and sound!
Dr Rea Dennis; who is positioned in the Atrium, Cardiff, Is teaming up with the Rhydyfelin youth drama group, whom have already worked extensively with her over the last few months. But the pressure is really on as the half-term rehearsals and then the production commence!
The performance promises to be a very different; but always emotional and entertaining showcase of physical drama, while the talent that both the young people and their co-ordinators possess insurers a mind-blowing show!
The project is funded by the University of Glamorgan, and the arts council of Wales, so I think they deserve a hand as well, Don’t you?
We would love for you to be there, so why not join us for a great show on the 19th of February 2010, around 7pm! At the beautifully restored, former church, that is, Soar Centre, Cross Street, Penygraig.
Really hope you can make it and thank you for reading!
