Outdoor pursuits was on the agenda during the six week holidays for young people in the Mountain Ash area and the day lived up to all expectations. The venue was the Dare Valley Country park where all young people took part in various activities which included Mountain Biking, Archery, Map Reading and the ultimate challenge the almighty Climbing Wall.
The day was interesting and it was good to see all young people take part in physical activity with some of them excelling at certain activities throughout the day. The main challenge was the Climbing Wall and even though some young people had a phobia of heights everyone got stuck in and had a go and I even think it helped some young people get over their fears of heights. When they were all up there climbing it was like a scene from cliffhanger!
As some of the young people were from out of the Mountain Ash area it was pleasing to see everyone mixing well together and building good team work skills and encouraging each other to do well at the activities.
Well done to all the young people and not forgetting the staff that took part in the day.
