Big Football Weekend – Review

There weekend was a great weekend in the Barclays Premier League and also throughout the championship and leagues one and two.

In the Barclays Premier League, the champions, and league leaders, Chelsea lost 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to Sunderland, thanks to goals from Nedum Onuoha, Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck. Manchester United also had a certain amount of bother as they went 2-0 down against Aston Villa, through goals from Ashley Young and Marc Albrighton, but they should resilience to com back to earn a hard fought 2-2 draw, with their goals coming from Macheda and Vidic. Arsenal beat Everton 2-1 to go back to second in the Premier League, through goals from Sagna and Fabregas and an Everton consolation from Cahill.

In the npower championship, Cardiff City claimed the top spot after a 4-2 win away at Scunthorpe, thanks to two goals from Jay Bothroyd, one from Michael Chopra and the other from Seyi Olofinjana. Scunthorpe got two goals from McDonald and N-Guessan but it wasn’t enough to retrieve anything from the game. QPR drop to second, after a 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest and Swansea remain third after a 1-0 win over Middlesborough.

    Well I didn’t expect this, Stoke 2-0 Liverpool thought Liverpool were flying high after they beat Chelsea.
