The Football League Weekend Preview

This weekend, as the busy and action-packed Christmas period draws in, the premier league and football leagues continue.

We start off, as usual in the Barclays Premier League. First plays second in the premier league on Monday night as Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. Another big match sees fifth play third as Tottenham Hotspur face Chelsea at White Hart Lane. Fourth placed Manchester City also have a difficult game at bottom of the league West Ham, however even though West Ham are in 20th place, they have recently come into a good run of form, after beating Manchester United 4-0 in the Carling Cup.

The other premier league fixtures this weekend are just as exciting, and here they are:

In the npower championship, the leaders QPR have a chance to extend their lead in the championship to seven points as they face Watford at Loftus Road on Friday night. Second placed Cardiff will though have a chance to re-close the gap on Saturday, as they face Middlesbrough, at the Riverside stadium. Third placed Swansea also have a Friday night fixture this weekend as they face Millwall at the Liberty stadium.
