The Detached team in ‘Y Pant’ area are out 3 evenings a week, usually Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and also every now and again they cover a Friday night which has been very busy lately. The workers in the area are Hannah Godwin and Leon Bansal and they cover the areas from Llantrisant up as far as Brynna. They will (for those of you who don’t know yet) be in Red or Purple hoodies and always with their ID tags.

As Well as working the streets, Hannah and Leon have been busy in the 2 Comprehensive Schools in the area which are ‘Y Pant’ and ‘Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari’ where they run School sessions. Currently at ‘Y Pant’ School the youth workers are running School mentoring sessions where young people come to speak on a one to one basis which has proven to be very successful. Currently at Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari they’re delivering the CEOP internet and online safety training with year 7 pupils and an ASDAN award to go with it. This so far has been excellent and the young people seem to find it interesting.

With all this going on the Detached team in this area also try to put on trips/ activities when they can, and also work in partnership with other agencies to help and support other provision throughout the area, with February half term next being the priority and fast approaching.

So all is busy at the moment and good to see! If you see your local detached workers out and about do not hesitate to go for chat to see what is happening in your area!
