Stacey and Adam your ‘Detached Youth Workers’ can be found three evenings a week between 6-9pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We visit the areas Rhydyfelin, Trefforest, Hawthorn, Nantgarw, Ty Rhiw, Dynea, and Taffs Well throughout these evenings. If you see two people approaching you wearing hoodies, don’t be scared!
What we do?
Detached youth workers walk the streets around the valleys. We’re always up for a chat and you can talk to us about anything, from things going on at home, with friends, interesting stuff going on with you as well as the more serious things like housing issues, money, sexual health and education/training, alcohol/drug.
We are YOUR youth workers who come to you on the streets and not in the clubs or community centres. We like to change things for the better for you and if we don’t know the answer, we will surely find someone who will.
Remember you don’t always have to discuss serious issues, if any of you young people want to discuss trips and events you would like to participate in over school holidays then come and have a chat.
Why not contact us here on WICID by commenting on this article, or any of the other detached articles, or come join our Facebook Group and we can arrange to meet you. We chat about absolutely anything YOU want to chat about.
Remember we are here to help and support you and also to help make sure that your having a good time so please please please feel free to have a chat with us when we’re out and about in your area.
Hope to see you all soon
Stacey Oliver and Adam Gordon
