A group of young people from Trealw took part in a go karting trip at supa kart Newport in February half term, this trip was kindly funded by E3+ and supported by the Detached Youth Work Team of Lee Taylor, Ryan Strong and Stacey Oliver.
It was a great day where the young boys competed in a mini grand prix, straight away there was a high level of competition starting between all of the drivers.
From the word go it was like being at Silverstone for the British grand prix as the young people took the corners at high speed and tried all sorts of different ways to overtake each other in a number of high speed races.
After an exciting grand prix it came down to the final 4 drivers, it was the final, the biggest race of their lives and it showed as each and every one of them gave it their all with the support of the eliminated drivers from the sidelines, with the checkered flag in sight the drivers were still all in with a chance of winning but a fantastic final corner from 16 year old Thomas Morse sealed the victory and the trophy for his mantelpiece, Thomas More said “It’s a massive achievement and i hope Lewis Hamilton is shaking in his boots”.
A fantastic day where the boys did themselves proud, well done boys!!
