Footloose the Musical

If you enjoy foot tapping music, great dancing routines, interactive audience participation and a thoroughly enjoyable night out, then Footloose at the Millennium Theatre, Cardiff is the place for you. The storyline is a bit cheesy but the enthusiasm and energy of the young entertainers far outweighs the boy meets girl scenario with a bit of bullying thrown in. The title number is a fast and furious dance that lasts forever and is only upstaged by a sequence in the first half which is a show stopper.
The song was made famous by Bonnie Tyler but is in the repertoire of any respectable club artist and it shows off the versatility of the singers and dancers in the show to their very best. The name of the number is ‘Holding Out for a Hero’ and the choreography is nothing short of outstanding. The voices and dance ability of the female leads are brilliant with their male counterparts driving the young ladies in the audience wild with their raunchy routine.
As a piece of pure entertainment for all ages this show has it all. I loved it and I am one of the silver surfers amongst you. Good music, great singers and brilliant dancers, not a lot more to be said. A memorable evening of fun and enjoyment.
