My Philosophy On Life- My Inspiration, Ken Dodd

Welcome to My Philosophy On Life! I’m new to Wicid and blogging. I’ll be giving you my opinion of people, events and what I think of things, with a bit of fun along the way!

During my school days I tell jokes to my friends and generally entertain them. Now last week I was asked who inspires me? And I thought about this for some time until I realised who’s jokes and songs have propelled me forward and it came to me, Ken Dodd! Now in these days of swearing and moaning comedians Ken is a beacon of light because his comedy style is as he says ‘optimistic’ he focuses on happiness and has a theme song of that title. He’s been in the biz’ for over 57 years and is still going strong even as he nears his 84th birthday. He has no interest in retiring any time soon and to show this has gone on tour once again- ‘Happiness Tour’ spanning all over Britain, from Bradford to Llandudno, Torquay to his home town of Liverpool. He was voted #36 in ‘The Comedian’s Comedian’ and he most certainly is that with such comic fans as Frank Carson, Gregor Fisher, Ricky Tomlinson, and Les Dennis- if you not heard of some of them trust me they’re funny. Ken tells excellent jokes such as:
“Did you hear about the shrimp that went to the prawn’s cocktail party? He pulled a mussel.”
“How many men does it take to change a toilet roll? Nobody knows- it’s never been done.”
“Honolulu, it’s got everything. Sand for the children, sun for the wife, sharks for the wife’s mother.”

To hear Dodd’s theme song go to

He has been a true inspiration to me, but I want to know who inspires you?
