Enchanting, dazzling, spellbinding and stunning were just some of the comments made by the audience of Pontypridd High School’s sell-out production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this week.
Pupils from every year group throughout the school took the stage by storm with confidence and gusto, captivating their audience from start to finish.
After several years of performing in local theatres, it was great to see staff and pupils working together to transform the school hall into a magical theatre to host the show. Parents, pupils, and community members came together to witness the array of talent from the outstanding pupils of Ponty High. Not only did the pupils perform but they got involved in prop making, set painting, lighting, stage crew and playing alongside professional orchestra members.
Catering pupils added to the evening’s entertainment by providing a pre theatre meal served in the Catering Department’s restaurant which was enjoyed by those who wanted the VIP experience.
The school would like to say a huge “Thank you” to Miss Kelly, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Evan-Jones from the Performing Arts Department for all their hard work along with all the staff who volunteered their time to make this year’s production such a massive success and of course to all the pupils who performed “Bravo!”
