A review on Cardiff City‘s season so far and how they have played and my thoughts on whether or not they”ll get to the Barclays Premier League.
Cardiff City have had an astonishing season so far and have played fantastic football, resulting in their fans being extremely proud and pleased about their team’s form. They’ve been playing as if they’ve finally realised their full potential. They are currently top of the Npower Football League Championship and are 7 points clear of Hull City. Cardiff City have also got a game in hand, which makes their position at the top of the table even better and deserved.
Some fans might have not liked the idea of changing the team’s traditional home-kit colours from blue to red at first and some fans even lost respect for the club’s Malaysian owner and billionaire, Vincent Tan, because they saw it as a bad move and a sign of lack of respect for the long-time fans. But, the transition of colours seems to have worked with the players showing that whatever colour they wear, they’ll still give their all. With only 9 games of the season left, the Bluebirds only have to win 4 of them to guarantee promotion. With key players like Mark Hudson (captain), Craig Bellamy and Peter Whittingham all playing key roles in the team it is crucial to keep them all fit and hope, with fingers and toes crossed, that they and no other member of the team manage to pick up bad injuries that will keep them out of vital games.
With rivals Swansea recently getting promoted to the Premiership and maintaining good form since their promotion in 2011, I think a main factor in the Bluebirds’ good form is that Swansea’s predicament has motivated the team even more to join them in the top division. If anyone is going to get them up there then Malky Mackay should be the man.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Cardiff City will get promoted this season?
