If you have an interest in music and creating audio and visual content for music then, boy, do I have something that’ll interest you. The new Foundation Degree in Creative Audiovisual Media run by The University of South Wales and based in Newport will focus on; Music Production, Video Production, Interactive and Online Technologies, Distribution & Events Management and Entrepreneurship in Industry, all of which basically means you’ll learn how to make music and videos and how to run, organise and set up events as well as learning about file formats for audio and video and what that all means.
The course will last 3 years and will be part time, mostly in the evenings and on weekends, and you will get a foundation degree at the end, as well as getting the opportunity to top-up your degree with a BA (Hons) Creative Sound & Music degree for one more year of study.
To apply for the course you will need to show some form of practical experience in the above mentioned areas and, upon an interview, be able to provide a portfolio of music/video work you’ve created/worked on in the past.
