Think Big – Get Your Business Off The Ground

Lots of us have had an idea for a business or an enterprise but how many of us have acted on that? Is it fear of the unknown that stops us?

The EU-funding backed Community Enterprise Network (CEN) are planning an event in the centre of Pontypridd this week to help people get their ideas off the ground and to remove some of those fears.

Sessions include workshops on How to Fund Your Project, Digital Marketing and Turning Your Idea into Reality. In addition, Community Enterprise Network are working in partnership with The Coalfields Regeneration Trust on Coalfields’ Den which will give you the opportunity to pitch an idea to a panel for the opportunity to win financial support for your project.

There’s also the opportunity on Thursday for you or your group to showcase your skills or items that you make and sell. Tables can be booked in advance for this.

The event kicks off today, Monday 11 November at Clwb Y Bont, Taff Street at 10am. Samantha Turner, CEN Co-ordinator said:

We’re really excited about this event. There are so many great ideas that people have but they don’t know what to do about them; don’t know how to turn them into reality. Sometimes, all it takes is a little guidance and support and that’s what next week is all about: removing some of the barriers that often, are not half as scary and threatening as they seem.”

Throughout the week there will be workshops and afternoon drop in advice sessions. The five day programme looks like this:

10am-12noon: Workshop – Turning your Idea into Reality / 12noon-4pm: Afternoon Drop in sessions.
