The visit saw 30 young people gain anopportunity to take in all of what Cardiff City FC are all about. We startedthe day with a tour of the stadium and its facilities, making our way towardsthe ‘Houses of Sport’, which are the academy training venues for the club.
Following a brief talk on the day to dayrunning of the club and our day in particular, the young people were asked tochange so they were ready for a game of football and were then taken on through a sessionwhich would normally be delivered to their academy players of the similar ageto our group.
The young people were very eager to impressthe coaches and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the venue and coaching.Following the session we had a brisk lunch and were then handed our tickets forthe friendly match of Cardiff City FC vs Wolfsburg FC.
The atmosphere of the game was excellent asthe game was the final big friendly before Cardiff would embark on theirnew Championship season, a 3-3 draw was enough for the young people to be overjoyedand were happy to have had a great day out.
