During the summer period, Cymer Youth Club Building played host to weekly activity sessions throughout the summer holidays.
As well as the sessions running a drop in/chill out zone for young people, there was also a programme of activities available. These included DJ workshops, table tennis, cooking, arts and crafts, rounders, badminton, Cardiff City football sessions and – of course – the thousands of loom bands that we went through. In addition to these, young people were able to battle the YEPS staff in pool competitions, FIFA tournaments and even dominoes!
Running for the full six weeks, there were 12 full day sessions in total and all went very well and were enjoyed thoroughly by the young people and staff alike. The sessions not only gave local young people somewhere to go during school holidays but also gave them a chance to try new activities, learn new skills and meet new friends.
The YEPS teams from the two schools were delighted with how the sessions went and were pleased to see young people accessing and enjoying the activities on offer. They would like to thank all the tutors that ran activities, all the YEPS staff that were involved throughout the six weeks and would also like to pay special thanks to the young people that attended and made the sessions so enjoyable.
See you all in September when the autumn provision starts!
