Mae llawer o gyffro wedi bod ynghylch tri ymwelydd newydd yn ysgol Park Lane dros yr wythnosau diwethaf. Dewch i gwrdd Hetty, Betty a Boots, ein hieir Pekin Bantam. Ar l llawer o waith caled gan Lisa o’r Dosbarth Arian a Miss Hopkin, mae gan ein hieir lloc hyfryd, diogel nawr yng nghefn yr ysgol. Tu fewn i’r lloc, mae ganddyn nhw d? cyw ir moethus, newydd sbon ac maen nhw wedi bod yn cael yr holl sylw ers symud mewn. Bydd yr ieir newydd yn derbyn gofal o’n disgyblion Cyfnod Allweddol 4 sy’n ymgymryd ’n cwrs achrededig, newydd “Gofalu am Anifeiliaid”, lle maen nhw’n dysgu am fwydo, glanhau a gofalu amdanynt. Mae’r ieir hefyd yn cael ymweliad wythnosol gan y Dosbarth Porffor, Cyfnod Allweddol 2, ac maen nhw’n awyddus i helpu i ofalu amdanynt. Mae’n ymddangos bod Betty, Hetty a Boots yn addasu’n dda i’w cartref newydd ac rydym i gyd yn hapus iawn i’w cael nhw. Newyddion gWYch!

Mae’r cynhaeaf wedi mynd a dod eto eleni ac unwaith eto cawson ni brynhawn hyfryd i ddathlu yn ysgol Park Lane. Gwnaeth bob dosbarth weithio’n galed iawn yn ymarfer caneuon i ganu yn ein gwasanaeth arbennig ac roedd rhai perfformiadau dosbarth cyfan ardderchog, yn ogystal deuawdau ac ychydig o unawdau. Ar l ein gwasanaeth, gwnaethom rannu’r bwyd roedd y dosbarthiadau i gyd wedi’i baratoi a rhoi diolch bod digon o fwyd ar gael i ni. Gwnaethom hefyd adlewyrchu ar y bobl sy’n llai ffodus na ni ac fe gafodd llawer o fwyd ei gasglu ar gyfer y banc bwyd. Diolch yn arbennig i deuluoedd a staff a gyfrannodd.

Gwnaeth disgyblion Dosbarth Oren, Cyfnod Allweddol 5, hefyd ddefnyddio’r cyfle i dyfu llysiau eu hunain ar ddarn o dir yr ysgol. Cawson ni ein gwobrwyo am eu gwaith caled, wrth i datws, moron a ffa dringo gael eu casglu a’u coginio mewn cawl blasus yn ein hardal sgiliau byw’n annibynnol.

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding three new arrivals at Park Lane in recent weeks. Meet Hetty, Betty and Boots, our Pekin Bantam hens. After lots and lots of hard work from Lisa in Dosbarth Arian and Miss Hopkin, our hens now have a lovely secure pen at the back of the school. Inside the pen, they live in a brand new luxurious hen house and have been the center of attention since moving in. The new hens will be looked after by our Key Stage 4 pupils who are undertaking our brand new “Animal Care” accredited course where they are learning about feeding, cleaning and caring for them. The hens also have weekly visits from Dosbarth Porffor, in Key Stage 2, who are keen to help care for them. Hetty, Betty and Boots seem to be settling into their new home really well and we are all very happy to have them. Eggscellent news!

Harvest has come and gone again this year and once again we had a wonderful afternoon of celebration at Park Lane. All classes worked really hard practicing songs to perform in our special assembly and we had some brilliant whole class performances, as well duets and a few solos. After our assembly we shared food that each class had made and gave thanks for being able to have our food so readily available to us. We also reflected on those less fortunate than ourselves and a great deal of foodstuff was collected to be distributed by the food bank. A special thank you to families and staff who donated items, it was very much appreciated.
Dosbarth Oren in Key Stage 5 also used the opportunity to harvest their own vegetables that they had grown in our school allotment and we really did reap the rewards of their hard work as a bumper harvest of potatoes, carrots and runner beans were collected and made into a delicious stew in our independent living skills area.
