Ar 26 Tachwedd 2015, cynrychiolodd pump o ferched Bl. 7 athair o ferched Bl. 8 Ysgol y Pant mewn tîm chwech-bob-ochr yng nghystadleuaethCynghrair Pêl-droed Genedlaethol Dinas Caerdydd.

Yn y gystadleuaeth, roedd dau bwll ag wyth tîm ym mhob un.Roedd Ysgol y Pant ym mhwll 2. Dechreuodd y merched yn eu gemau cyntaf yn aradeg gyda gêm gyfartal (1-1) yn erbyn Ysgol Gyfun Sirol Cymuned y Porth.

Gwellodd y canlyniadau wrth i’r diwrnodfynd yn ei flaen wrth i’r merched gyflymu’u gêm a chwarae i’w llawnbotensial.  O ganlyniad i hynny, enilloddy merched weddill eu gemau pwll gan chwarae pêl-droed da a sgorio goliauardderchog ar hyd y ffordd.

Ar ôl i’r holl gemau pwll gael eu chwarae, aeth 4 tîm ymlaeni’r rowndiau olaf, sef White Cross (Henffordd) ac Ysgol Gyfun Rhymni o Bwll 1,ac Ysgol y Pant ac Ysgol Gyfun Sirol Cymuned y Porth o Bwll 2.  Ysgol y Pant oedd wedi cronni’r nifer fwyaf ogoliau ym Mhwll 2.

Yn dilyn y canlyniadau yma, chwaraeodd ytimau buddugol (yn eu grwpiau) yn erbyn ei gilydd yn y rownd  gynderfynol, a’r rheiny a ddaeth yn ail yn yrun modd:

White Cross yn erbyn Y Porth

Y Pant yn erbyn Rhymni

Enillodd White Cross y gêm yn erbyn y Porth yn hawdd, ondroedd gêm Y Pant a Rhymni yn fwy tynn o lawer. Ar ôl y gêm o 10 munud, y sgôroedd 1-1. Roedd hyn yn golygu y byddai rhaid cynnal cystadleuaeth ciciau cosb iweld pa dîm oedd y gorau.

Dangosodd y merched wytnwch anhygoel er eu bod nhw o danbwysau mawr, a nhw sgoriodd y nifer fwyaf o giciau cosb. 2-0 oedd y sgôr, acroedd Ysgol y Pant drwodd i’r rownd derfynol.

Yn y rownd derfynol, chwaraeodd Ysgol y Pant yn erbyn WhiteCross, sef tîm cryf iawn a oedd wedi ennill y gystadleuaeth dair gwaith yn olynol.Nhw oedd y ffefrynnau ar ddechrau’r gystadleuaeth. Roedd gwahaniaeth enfawr ynnhaldra’r merched yn y ddau dîm ond chwaraeon nhw yr un mor dda â’i gilydd mewngêm agos oedd yn ddiweddglo teilwng  iddiwrnod arbennig.

Ar ôl gêm â chyffro wrth byst y naillochr a’r llall, gyda’r ddau dîm yn ymdrechu hyd yr eithaf, Ysgol y Pantenillodd y gêm drwy sgorio gôl oedd yn ffrwyth llafur y tîm i gyd. Y sgôrderfynol felly oedd 1-0.

Roedd hi’n braf iawn gweld y dathliadau ar ôl y gêm a gweldy merched yn llawn cyffro a llawenydd. Roedd hi’n amlwg bod eu gwaith caledwythnosol yn ymarfer wedi dwyn ffrwyth. A hithau’r gystadleuaeth gyntaf i raio’r merched gymryd rhan ynddi, a rhai eraill dim ond wedi dechrau chwarae arddechrau’r flwyddyn academaidd, alla i ddim bod yn fwy hapus nac yn fwy balchohonyn nhw.

Bydd y tîmyma nawr yn mynd ymlaen i gynrychioli clwb pêl-droed Dinas Caerdydd yng ngêmderfynol y Rhanbarth.  Bydd y gêm yma’ncael ei chynnal ym Mhrifysgol Caerwysg ar 14 Ionawr 2016. Bydd y merched yncystadlu yn erbyn timau eraill sydd wedi bod yn fuddugol yn eu clybiauCynghrair Pêl-droed.

 **************************************************************

On the 26th of November 2015, five Year 7 girls and three Year 8 girls made up the U13 Y Pant girls? 6-a-side Team, to represent the school in the Cardiff City National Football league competition.

The competition was split in to two groups comprising of eight teams in each group. Y Pant was drawn in Pool 2. They began their group stages at a slow but steady pace, with an initial 1-1 draw with local rivals Porth County Comprehensive School.

Results gradually improved throughout the day, with the girls picking up the pace of play and playing to their potential. This resulted in the girls winning the remainder of their pool games, playing some great football and scoring some fantastic goals along the way.
When all the pool games where complete, 4 teams progressed to the knockout stages of the competition. White cross (Hereford), Rhymney Comprehensive School qualified from Pool 1 and Y Pant and Porth County from Pool 2, with Y Pant topping the group on goal difference.
Following these results in the Semi -final first place played second in the corresponding group:

White-cross v Porth
Y Pant v Rhymney

Whitecross beat Porth convincingly in their semi. The Semi Final between Y Pant and Rhymney was a much tighter affair. After the 10 minute game time the score was 1-1, this meant it would take penalties to separate the team.

The girls showed great nerve under extreme pressure to step up and win the penalty shoot out 2-0 which meant Y Pant were through to the final.

The final was now between Y Pant and a very strong Whitecross team having won the competition for the past three years and continuing as a very firm favourite at the beginning of the competition. There was a huge gulf in height between the two teams, but that’s all that separated the two teams with a very well contested final which was a worthy end to such a great day.
After an end-to-end game with both teams giving everything they had to the cause, Y Pant came out victorious with a well worked team goal to clinch the game 1-0.

The celebrations after the games were great to see, and the excitement and jubilation from having won the competition were evident. What made it even more rewarding for the girls is that the hard work they have put in training on a weekly basis had paid off. With this being the first football completion a number of the girls have competed in with some of girls having only taken up football at the start of the academic year I could not be happier or more proud of them.

This team will now go on to represent Cardiff City Football club in the Area final. This will be held in Exeter University on the 14th of January 2016. They will now compete against other finalists who will also be representing their respective Football League clubs.
