Wicid.TV was invited to attend the unveiling of The Forte Project’s ten new acts for 2017 at Redhouse, Merthyr on December 13th.

The Forte Project is a unique 12-month scheme that harnesses and nurtures the development of ten musical acts from across the South Wales area, including RCT, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Bridgend, and the Vale of Glamorgan. The project works in co-ordination with SONIG Youth Music, ArtsConnect, and the PRS Foundation and is funded by an Arts Council of Wales lottery grant.

Having been carefully selected from over fifty applicants, the ten acts will receive a personal industry professional mentor who will offer them advice and guidance on all aspects of their professional and personal development. The project will also provide the acts with valuable networking and high profile performance opportunities, recording time, and most importantly invaluable professional experience.
