The Youth Engagement & Participation Service’s exciting programme for young people can now be accessed through www.Wicid.TV.
Throughout the autumn term, YEPS will be running a trial where young people from four comprehensive schools (Garth Olwg, Pontypridd High School, Mountain Ash Comprehensive and YG Cymer) can book on to lunch time and after school activities from the comfort of their own homes. The aim is to release the system to all schools by the beginning of the spring term in January 2018.
In order to access the booking system, young people must register an account on www.wicid.tv – once there, simply click the ‘Register’ button in the top-right corner and complete the form.
The system will use a shopping cart format where young people can add the activities they would like to participate in to a basket. When they are ready to proceed, the young person will need to enter a valid email address of a parent or guardian in order for a consent form to be sent. Following a parent or guardian’s completion of the online consent form, which will have been sent to their email address, the young person’s place on their respective activities will be confirmed.
If there are young people and/or their parents/guardians without internet access, their school’s Youth Engagement Officer will provide the young person with a paper copy of a consent form. Young people can check the status of their bookings at any time by clicking on the ‘Your Account’ button in the top-right corner when logged in, followed by selecting ‘Your Activity Bookings’ from the options on the left side of the page.
If any young people and/or parents have any questions regarding the booking system, please don’t hesitate to contact us either through our YEPS Facebook page or the admin team can be contacted on 01443 744106.
