I was tampin’, fumin’, ragin’ when I found out what I’m about to tell you (and yes, I just quoted MTV’s The Valleys…whatcha gonna do bout it?). The fashion label, ‘Abercrombie and Fitch’ have recently announced they will no longer sell plus sizes in female clothing, with the largest size now being a size 10 (American sizes).

The popular American retailer’s CEO, Mike Jeffries “doesn’t want his core customers to see people who aren’t hot as them wearing his clothing and doesn’t want larger people shopping in his store. He wants thin and beautiful people.”

However, ‘Abercrombie & Fitch’ still offers men’s sizes in XXL as they believe this is to appeal to muscular football players and wrestlers.

Mr Jeffries said previously in a 2006 interview “That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores because good-looking people attract other good-looking people and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t want to market to anyone other than that.”

Well, since reading about this outrageous news, I have a personal message to the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch.

Dear Mr Jeffries,

I understand that you dislike people who are on the larger size shopping up your store. As a plus-size girl myself, I thought I should let you know that you are delusional and absolutely out of order. Beauty does come in more than one size and clearly you don’t understand the beauty of the world. I’m sorry that I am not a size 0, beautiful, model-material teenager. No, I’m a typical teenager who doesn’t have the perfect figure because of 1) A health issue and 2) Junk food is cheaper than healthy foods. We’ve had a recession and therefore, you buy what you can damn well afford.

If you took a step out of your fictional, perfect world where everyone should be thin and looked around, maybe you’d see good looks and beauty in more than one way apart from being a stick insect and catwalk ready. Marilyn Monroe – a huge role model in her time and still one today – was not a stick insect and she was classed as one of the most beautiful women in the world. She’s beautiful, right? Then what’s so different about sizes back then to sizes now?

I don’t own any of your clothing due to the fact that you are highly overpricing your products, but if I did, I would now happily burn your products on a bonfire and roast marshmallows on the fire as I sang ‘Fire Burning’ by Sean Kingston with my other friends who are highly beautiful yet in no way a size 0 because I wouldn’t dare let myself wear a brand by such an egotistical, prejudiced person. Even if I was the size you expected me to be, I would still refuse to wear anything with your branded name on because you sir, are not a beautiful person. How do I know this without even seeing a photo of you, you may ask? Simple. Beauty isn’t always about the looks. It’s about the personality, too. And from your ridiculous actions, it’s pretty clear that you are not at all a nice person and therefore, you are not beautiful. Maybe you should sell your clothing to nice people considering nice is beautiful and vain and egotistical b*******s like you aren’t.

I hope you realise that you have lowered a lot of female’s self esteem and I hope you are dripping in guilt, especially over the fact that you have disgusted people across the world – including famous people, with your actions.

Have a nice day and I hope you realise how pathetic your actions have been.

Yours Sincerely,
