Welsh SchoolsGymnastics Championships

Tyler Morgan,year 7, represented Mid Glamorgan county in the Welsh Schools GymnasticsChampionships on Friday 6th March at the Welsh Institute of Sport. Tyler and his team were crownedWelsh Champions in U14 team boys. The Cwm Gymnastics school community clublink is thriving with a core 24 pupils attending every Wednesday 6.30-7.30. Thestudents are also preparing for the gymnastics showcase in school in June. Also,a full E3 /5 x 60 report is available here.

GarethRichards, who works for the YEPS team at school was nominated and successful inwinning the High Sheriffs Youth Community Awards on Thursday 5th March. Garethalso received the cup for the most outstanding application nominated in allcategories. He is also in the process of completing his Gold Duke of Edinburgh‘s award.

Gymnastics Community Club Link

Our studentshave been working hard for a number of weeks at school and have now joinedAbercynon Gymnastic Club. They have attended many after-school sessionsand club sessions and have been successful in competitions. Congratulationsfor the hard work and commitment, it is excellent to see community club linksdeveloping.

Rush hockey hasbeen introduced to the girls in lessons by Hockey Wales staff and as a school wehave purchased the equipment to play this game every week.  The rules aresimilar to hockey but the main difference is that it is indoors. We have set up aclub running every Thursday at Mountain Ash Comprehensive School 5pm-6pm. All students are welcome to attend

Our girlsfootball is continuing to develop within the school and the girls have played anumber of fixtures. They entered a RCT tournament recently and wereunlucky not to reach the finals.
