Catching Up With Camryn

If you remember back to March, I interviewed American teen popstar and One Direction’s support act, Camryn. Now that the European leg of the ‘Take Me Home Tour’ is over, Camryn is back in the states and is getting ready for one eventful summer.

Talking about the ‘Take Me Home Tour’, Camryn says: “The European tour with One Direction was a crazy and amazing experience. It was a dream come true! It was definitely the best way for me to get out there and show a lot of my fans, and new ones, that this is me. This is what I’m about. And I’m just getting started!”

As soon as she landed back in sunny California, Camryn decided to lose her beautiful blonde hair and dye it a funky, faded blue jean-inspired colour and I must say, she is certainly rocking it. She first showed off her hair at ‘The Sweet Suite’ – an event benefiting Juvenile Arthritis in Hollywood, CA recently and even met up with former ‘Waiting 4 U’ tour mate, Alli Simpson, catching up after 12 months apart.

So, what’s next for Camryn? Well, this summer, she’ll be heading back into the studio to write and record some new tracks for her debut album and anticipates a more edgier and rockier sound in order to compliment her live performances. Accompanying her will be producer and legend, Tony Battaglia, who has previously worked with Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Mandy Moore and rock acts Shinedown and Puddle of Mudd.

Summer will also be a special time for Camryn as she’ll be celebrating her 14th birthday. It’ll take place the weekend of the Teen Choice Awards (10th August) with a star-studded pool party and backyard BBQ.

“I want to have a fun birthday with some of my closest friends…so it’s the perfect timing to do it around the Teen Choice Awards when my ‘Take Me Home Tour’ mates and everyone else will be here!” says Camryn.

We hope to see amazing pics of that awesome party.

Last year in attendance, was friends Willow Smith, David and Victoria Beckham, as well as The Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck with some special birthday treats for the hot summer day. Totally envious!

If you want to know more about Camryn, follow her on Facebook ( and Twitter (@Camrynrocks) and check out her ‘Take Me Home Tour Diaries’ on her YouTube (

Also, her singles, ‘Now or Never’, ‘Summer’, ‘Set the Night on Fire’ and ‘Wait and Se’e are available to download on UK iTunes.

On behalf of Wicid, I’d like to wish Camryn an early happy birthday and hope her summer goes well.
