A group of 8 young males were the winners of Literacy week in the Porth cluster, they took on a number of teams from all around the cluster and showed all that they knew when it comes to sport to both their friends and us as a detached team. <?xml:namespace prefix =” o” ns =” “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”” />

As a prize for winning this quiz they had the option of a prize, they decided as a team that they wanted a Friday night cinema trip. This was a great idea for the boys in order for them to celebrate their great performance of 28/30 in the literacy sport quiz.

As a team they chose to watch the new film In Time and they all ended up thinking this was a great choice of film and a great way of celebrating being RCT “Champions”.

Ryan Stranks, 15, said “A fantastic night and a good way to celebrate being RCT champions”.

As well as Ryan, Ieuan Corey, also 15, said “When it comes to sport the Trebanog boys are definitely number one, simples, thanks boys”.

It went to show how well Literacy week went and how involved the young people actually got. It was a great trip and the boys did themselves proud.

Cheers boys, Lee Taylor – Detached youth worker
