F1 season highlights

So far, the F1 season has been very interesting. Some of the incidents this season have been exhilarating to say the least. With the first-lap-nutcase Romain Grosjean being at the heart of nearly every incident. With the incident in Belgium (Spa) being the worst by far.
Michael Schumacher has also had his fair share of incidents, making him retire in 7 races out of the 16 so far. This has left Mercedes fighting for a championship place with Sauber who they usually finish above at the end of the season. In my opinion, Sauber are looking the stronger team at the moment with Sauber drivers Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi having 3 podiums between them and Mercedes equalling them in that statistic.
With the season coming to an end the title is extremely close between the top two drivers (Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso). At this stage there is a 6 point gap between the two drivers with Sebastian being on 215 and Fernando being on 209 points with only four races left – it’s going to go down to the wire!
McLaren have been there and thereabouts throughout the season with Lewis Hamilton being the stronger points-earner throughout the season, having what appeared to be the stronger car for most of the season. With his teammate Jenson Button either retiring or just finishing below the standard set by the team to keep in the title race.
At this point in the season Red Bull seem to be dominating the Constructors title which was led for the majority of the start of the season by McLaren. With a 61 point lead with 4 races to go I think Red Bull stand a good chance of winning the Constructors and possibly the drivers title as well. With Ferrari now overtaking McLaren in the Constructors it’s going to be tight to see who’s going to finish where at this late point in the season.
With the next race being in India Narain Karthikeyan is looking forward to this race as it is his home Grand Prix. With Narain being in a HRT (who are in the title race with Marussia and Caterham) he has a very unlikely chance of winning as the team haven’t developed KERS yet. With rivals Marrusia developing KERS for next season’s car.
