GLOBAL DAY – 1 shot of fun, 2 sips of out-of-the-ordinary, a slice of culture and a dash of cosmopolitanism

Bring the whole family to see, taste, hear and meet 4 continents in 6 hours!

Visitors will have the opportunity to attend workshops in art, music, outdoor activities, taste continental dishes and view the screening of a documentary. They can choose to have their name drawn by graffiti artist Joe Podesta, work on various crafts with artist Jessica Pennington or learn the art of bubble blowing.  They can gain skills in golf playing, get their face painted by a Caribbean artist, try yoga for kids, dance to world rhythms and much more. A rare series of workshops are offered with the support of BVSW (Black Voluntary Sector Network Wales): hair braiding and wood sculpting as done by African artists;  the art of Chinese papercuts, knots, painting, calligraphy or kites. Artist Nicky Delgado will perform sung poetry and showcase a factual visual exhibition following mankind’s journey from Africa around the globe, based on evidence worldwide.
Music will also be present in a variety of tastes and origins that extend from Klezmer Kollectiv, a Cardiff based band playing traditional classics and popular songs in a Klezmer and Balkan style, to African drumming to Portuguese and global music performed on a diatonic accordion. The day features performances from local band, The Missive.
