Increasing Solar Activity Could Have Earth In Darkness.

Ah, the Sun.

Otherwise known as the light in the sky, that gives us the light and heat that we need to live.

But as it wakes from a deep sleep, it could wreak havoc on Earth…

And no, before you think, it won’t signal Jupiter to attack Earth with all it’s might…

The thing is though, that because there is increasing levels of solar activity and the flares from the consequent ‘space storm’, could wreak havoc for the population of Earth. That means you too, y’know.

NASA, the American refuge for scientists who love to explore space and the universe, is telling us to prepare for the once-in-a-generation storm. Why? Well, NASA’s worried that this storm that could effect Earth and result in widespread blackouts, leaving us without critical communication signals for considerable periods of time.

The overheating of national power grids, mass disruption of air travel and the complete shut down of electronic items, navigation devices and major satellites are just some of the consequences of the Sun reaching its maximum power in only a few years time.

Not only that, if a bolt of lightning, caused by the storm, hit Earth, it could bring disastrous consequences for the world emergency service and hospital equipment. Oh, and I nearly forgot, it would also leave us without our computers, sat navs and iPods.

The worse case scenario? Well, that would see large parts of Earth plunge into darkness for months, though senior scientists say it will last hours and maybe days.

But, as we’re in a world highly reliant on technology and high tech systems, it does seem like it’ll have a drastic impact.
