What YEPS are offering Young People Virtually

1-2-1 Instant Messaging on Wicid.tv

For the first time ever Wicid has a instant messaging function, which means you can log on and speak to one of our workers for personal advice between 12-2 pm and 6-8 pm Monday – Friday. In order to safeguard you it is important that you have a Wicid account and are logged in to be able to speak to us. You can find the chat function on the Wicid homepage.

Our Online Activity Programme

We are really sorry that at the moment we are not able to bring you our standard afternoon activity programme. However we are working really hard with our providers to bring you online sessions of the many activities we know and love. We are putting together a programme and you will be able to find all the information on the Wicid website. We will be getting videos from our providers and we will upload to YouTube for you to watch and join in on with. These will also be posted on our social media channels for you to see.

YEPS Delivered Workshops

We also have some really talented staff within YEPS who are offering sessions that you can get involved in where they will teach you these skills. So far we have taught magic sessions from our YEO James Hawker and an amazing COVID-19 Photography group with our YEO Les Davies. To run these sessions we will be using the video conferencing app Zoom. If you want to sign up to these activities you will need to text the workers and they will send you the zoom code for each session.

How to download Zoom:

PC: – Follow this link to register https://zoom.us/ (it’s free) – Set your account up and make sure it’s been verified – Use the code the YEPS Team Member has provided you with in order to join the meeting – Now you’re all set up and good to go!

Mobile phone / tablets; – Download the Zoom app from App store or Google Play store (it’s free to download) – Set your account up and make sure it’s been verified – Use the code the YEPS Team Member has provided you with in order to join the meeting – Now you’re all set up and good to go!

Virtual youth clubs

Another absolute first for us is virtual youth clubs!! We totally understand that in the coming months you will miss going to your regular youth club……don’t worry so will we. Therefore we are going to trial virtual youth clubs 1 evening a week per club, where you can log on with your regular youth worker, and your friends who go to your youth club and have a catch up and chat again using Zoom. So yes we highly recommend you downloading zoom to connect with us in the coming months.

Instagram Live and Q&A sessions

Who wouldn’t like to quiz and question their youth workers live on Instagram? Well every Wednesday evening from 6pm we will be live on Instagram answering your questions and just generally having some fun. You can submit your questions throughout the week/ day and then in the evening two of our workers will log on and answer everything you’ve asked (as long as you have kept it sensible!). Our first one is happening this Wednesday (1st April) with our very own Lee Taylor and Ryan Strong.

All other things on YEPS Social Media

As well as all this we will also have a whole load of content on our social media channels all the time. We will have advice and information going out as regularly as we get it. We will be hosting the weekly #YEPSStayAtHomeChallenge where the winner of every week will get a £10 Amazon voucher. We will also be developing what we provide every week so for the most up to date information please follow us on our social media channels.

Facebook – Instagram – Twitter – Snapchat – all @YEPSRCT

So the message is clear – YEPS is still here. In this time we do not want you to think we have disappeared, we want to avoid you feeling too isolated and we will support you where we can. Just to re-iterate what we said at the beginning – if you need support please get in touch.

Stay safe everyone and we will see you virtually very very soon The Youth Engagement and Participation Service 🙂
