Letters Not To Be Sent:- Letter 7

By -

I’m worried about you. So worried and I have been since the beginning of year 10. Why? Well, because who you’ve been bothering with and the way they’ve influenced you. Let’s face it, you’re no angel any more. You’re always out partying and trying new things. Normally, I’d just say you’re being a normal teenager, but what you’ve been up to isn’t good at all. Your so called friends are peer pressuring you into drinking, smoking and taking drugs. I saw the photos that they took when you were completely drunk and you and I both know what you did when you were drunk. I wasn’t good at all and you completely regret it. I remember you telling me on MSN how you felt awful about it and how you were stupid. Yes, it was stupid and you really should stop bothering with people like that if you don’t want the reputation you have right now. What hurts the most is that we live way too far from each other for me to hug you and look after you. All I can do is comfort you through the internet.

What happened to the bubbly, artistic, creative girl I once knew? The one who was addicted to fashion and swore blind that she was going to do her hardest to become the next Coco Chanel? The one who used to party with me on webcam on New Years Eve because we couldn’t spend it face to face? I miss her a lot. Remember when there was the three of us who were inseparable despite living so far away from one another? You called us the three musketeers and we made plans about how one day we were all going to go on holidays together. We literally looked at websites for holidays online to get ideas of how much money we had to save to go. I’m still all for it but I’m worried in case that by then, you will be changed altogether and you might be alone and upset thanks to the affects that your “friends” have on you. Remember your old best friend? You and she were like sisters and you where your old self with her. The true you. I know that deep down the old you are still there. She’s trapped and wanting to come out but thanks to peer pressure, she’s stuck and the new you are taking over. You say how you hate being like this, well you don’t have to be. You only have to say “no”.

I guess there isn’t much else I can say except that I’ll always be here for you and if you ever need someone to talk to, no matter what time of day it is or anything, you can always call me, email me or if you’re that desperate, get transport to mine. But remember, you don’t have to live the life you’re living now if you don’t want to. Love you.

i love this! Its so sweet.
You are right. All she has to do is just say no. If she really is still there deep down inside, and you know she is, maybe think of a way to bring her back out again. That might help.
I know of a few of my friends who have gone astray because of drinking and smoking. I regret not helping them when I could. But after a while, I got fed up of hearing them have a go at me for not doing the same as them. So I walked, and am now living a better life because of it. I wish I could have helped them too.
But in this case, I think it might be easier to bring her back out. From what I can see by your writing you care for her a lot. Just remind her that you are always there for her when she needs you. Its all you can do if she does push you away.
    Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you! It’s hard that she lives really far from me. But I’m always on the other end of the phone for her or Email or even when she visits round here she can visit me. Thanks again 🙂 xx
