For those who don’t know what the Welsh National Wedding Awards are, here’s a short description about the awards: ‘The Welsh National Wedding Awards formally recognise industry business’ tireless work, undeniable passion and complete commitment to ensuring your day is perfect.’
Mark, who runs MB Photography and Videography, has had a massive passion for photography since the age of 12 after taking part in his old secondary school’s photography class after-school, every Monday. A career in photography has been Mark’s ambition for as long as he can remember and with an unprecedented drive to succeed, he’s already achieved a great deal in his young life.
Mark has also volunteered with Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Youth Engagement And Participation Service for 11 months back in 2012/2013 as a photographer at a range of events such as: Aberdare Festival, Ponty’s Big Weekend, RCT Open Days, Ponty’s Big Welsh Bite, there are still many more to list.
Back in November 2012, Mark won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Media Award’ at the annual RCT Youth Achievement Awards. Mark is currently undertaking a two year L3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production at Bridgend College to allow him to develop and showcase his photography and media skills in a professional way.
Over the last 11 months, Mark has helped develop his photography with outstanding photography of special events and ceremonies, also undertaking his first wedding back in May 2014. But most of his event work and ceremonies are done voluntarily.
Here’s what Mark had to say about his nomination:
‘Well, I was speechless after I received the email from JR Events who run the competition. I’m still in shock at this moment in time. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my family, friends and fellow photographers.’
