The Detached Youth Work Team within the Hawthorn Cluster have worked in partnership with Newydd Housing and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) in Rhydfelin to run a weekly drop in, for young people aged 16-24, that offers support with their efforts to re-engage with mainstream education, employment or training. The project has also recently recruited the support of Want2Work and Communities First for more specific help and advice.

The project offers support with CV writing, job searches, job applications, preparation for interviews as well as support with identifying training needs, college progression and work placements. In addition to this the project offers youth work support by working with young people to help them overcome social barriers that may affect their chance of re-engagement.

The project runs every Thursday at the Newydd Building, Rhydyfelin between 12pm-3pm. No appointment necessary, just drop in and say hello.
