If you have been lurking in the events section of Wicid and looked at the month of September, you may have seen the event “Inspire’s Coffee Morning for Macmillan”. This is run by my project, Inspire, which provides a platform for people to have their say on topics they find important.

Well, with less than a month away, we have loads planned and things are all falling into place, and now we have 10 reasons for why you should be at the event:

1. There’s going to be amazing cakes, tea, coffee and other goodies that you can buy. And you even get to keep your cup! (While stocks last).

2. There’s going to be some awesome live music at the event, including YouTube star Bethan Horton, Evan Gardner and Twelve Strings – enjoy your coffee while listening to some different genres of music.

3. There will be a variety of different activities to do which are either free or very low priced, including internet access and workshops, knitting for beginners, Wii games and more!

4. Muggy the Macmillan Mug will be around to have his photo done with you!

5. We have a fantastic raffle prizes up for grabs, including a meal for two at the Lord Tonypandy Carvery (Desserts included!), an iTunes Card worth £15 and Tailored Eyebrows at Fusion Studios, Treorchy!

6. It’s an ideal place to go with your friends – a cuppa and a catch-up, a perfect way to spend your Saturday after a long week after a new term of education or work.

7. There’s a chance for all you girlies to get your nails done at a low price ready to go out Saturday night!

8. You can get an early start to your Christmas shopping by stopping by the Merchandise Stall where there will be a variety of lovely goods for you to buy – all provided by Macmillan! There’s even a Lucky Dip!

9. Grab yourselves a free goody-bag packed with loads of little goodies which can come in handy for you.

10. Finally, all the money you give on the day will make Macmillan Time – just £25 will pay for 1 hour’s pay for a Macmillan Nurse to do work with a cancer patient.

As you can see from the above, this is no ordinary coffee morning and there’s plenty for you to do! Remember, we’re looking for donations of tea, coffee and Lucky Dip prizes. Either bring them along to the day or email

Hope to see you there!
