Melodifestivalen 2015: The Review

A few Saturdays back, Sweden picked its winner to represent them at Eurovision and that was Mans Zelmerlow, with the song Heroes. My winner was Dinah Nah, but sadly she came last overall… here are the reviews of the two songs!

Dinah Nah
Who is Dinah Nah?
Malin Sundstrom, better known as Dinah Nah – born 23rd August 1980 – and to my surprise she is a licensed skin therapist and nurse. Before Melodifestivalen in the 1990s she was a member of the pop group Caramell, and she then launched her solo career through Melodifestivalen this year.

Make Me (La la La)
Genre: Dubstep
Songwriter: Dinah Nah, Dr. Alban, Jacket Erixson, Karl-Ola Kjellholm
Created by: Anders Bagge, debuting in Melodifestivalen 2015

Final Place: Last

Overall I am sad and shocked to hear that Dinah Nah came last in the competition with her catchy, enthusiastic song which also starts with a catchy beat and sounds really Eurovision-esque. I personally thought Dinah Nah was going to do well, if I could have voted I would have probably paid millions just for Dinah Nah to represent Sweden and show that Sweden is one of the best power-houses for music, alongside the UK.

Mans Zelmerlow
Who is Mans Zelmerlow?
Mans Petter Albert Sahlen Zelmerlow, better known as Mans Zelmerlow (born on 13 June 1986), is a Swedish pop singer and TV presenter. He is best known In Sweden by coming 5th in Idol (X Factor) and for also winning Lets Dance (Strictly Come Dancing) and his song Cara Mia, which was his first Melodifestivalen entry.

Genre: Pop
Song Writers: Linnea Deb, Anton Malmberg Hard af Segerstad, Joy Deb
Lyricists: Linnea Deb, Anton Malmberg Hard af Segerstad, Joy Deb

Final Place: Winner of Melodifestivalen 2015

I personally believe he is a good singer, and Sweden normally do successfully well. Sweden has always been a top 5 for me, this year it is still in my top 5 of favourite songs for Eurovision and Sweden has done so for 3 consecutive years. I hope Sweden do well this year, but I can’t say it’s a worthy winner from me as I can’t find the ‘it’ factor which usually indicates a winner.
