Morfa Bay Residential

A residential weekend was run from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th of March 2011 with twelve young people from Trealaw attending an action packed weekend in Carmarthenshire.

It was a fantastic weekend, where the young people had the opportunity to work towards a OCN in team building skills whilst also taking part in a number of exciting activities that included Coast steering, mountain biking, archery, abseiling and wall climbing.

All activities went very well and the young people did their best to get all of the staff including Ryan Strong, Laura Morgan, Stacey Oliver and myself (Lee Taylor) involved in the activities, some times successful and sometimes not!

The downtime the young people then had in the evening was spent tiring me and Ryan out with non stop games of football, this was all good fun and made for a fantastic weekend with the weather playing a big part in making it so successful, the staff at the site were fantastic and also commented on how well the young people behaved and represented the Detached team as a whole.

A fantastic weekend had by all and I think all the young people were ready for a hard earned sleep on arrival home.

Here’s what a few of them had to say 🙂

“Great laugh with the boys and took part in awesome activities, cant wait to get back there” (Mark Daniels, 18, Trealw)

“The Coasteering was way too cold but apart from that I had a great weekend apart from the lack of sleep, cheers boys!” (Jake Perkins, 15, Trealw)

“Awesome laugh, a great time in great weather, a weekend that we never expected to happen to us all a few months ago, cracking” (Tom Morse, 18, Trealw)
