I am Lewis Jevons I recently attended the Youth Conference in Abercwmboi Rugby club in my capacity as the RCT Youth Mayor. It was a fantastic event organised by Services for Young People, where everyone was consulted and took part in a variety of activities including pyrography (wood burning) and the climbing wall.

I had a great time and worked with Jenna Claridge (Deputy Youth Mayor) Andrew Williams (Youth Inspector) and Amy O’Callaghan (Bryncelynnog youth forum) to deliver a workshop about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

I spoke to lots of young people during the event and one said “ This is Awesome, I want to do this again!” Many young people participated in this event, making new friends and networking with services. A real good fun packed day! The best part of the day is when young people are able to vote for the Deputy Youth Mayor. In May Jenna Claridge will take over from me and become the next RCT Youth Mayor and Samuel Akintioye will become the next Deputy Youth Mayor. If you are interested in getting involved in a youth forum or want to become a Youth Inspector or just want more information then contact.
