Children in Need is a BBC’s UK corporate charity. With the support of the public, they are able to make a difference to the lives of children all across the UK. Children in Need provide grants to different projects in the UK which help children and young people who are disadvantaged.

This year will be my 10th year of helping raise money for the charity. Last year I, alongside my friend, Emily Wilton, organised a sponsored walk and raised 204.78 (this was actually my first wicid article http://www.wicid.tv/en/news/treorchy-rai-pudsey-bear/03469.html) and since this marks a decade of helping to raise money, I wanted to make this year the biggest one I’ve helped organise yet…

This year, SirClucky, Josie? and I put our heads together for an idea. Josie? and I were on our way to Cardiff to meet with SirClucky for the day and we were looking through the Children in Need pack I had recently been sent since I’m on the mailing list for the charity. Josie? really wanted a disco and I agreed so when SirClucky boarded the train we told him our ideas. When we got to McDonalds, we sat down with our food and discussed ideas before going to Cardiff Library to come up with more ideas. We had lots of ideas and decided we want the event to take place on the weekend of the Live Television Broadcast of Children in Need and we wanted to link Wicid into it,too. We then came up with these ideas:-

Friday 11 – 4pm Main event: Bake-off with prizes. Other activities including a raffle and sell merchandise
Friday 7 – 11 Disco with another raffle. Wicid Nan Prize, and live local bands.
Saturday day – In each Valley the editorial groups go out on the streets to collect donations, sell more merchandise and sign people up.

What we want to know is if any of you awesome people would be willing to attend the event. If so, how much would you be willing to pay? Do you have any ideas for the event? We want your feedback! Comment below letting us know what you think!
