On September 19th, music promotion start-up Rhondda Underground returns to The Factory in Porth with some of the best local talent around.

Headlining the event are veterans of the local music scene, MIXALYDIA, who have built up a large following of fans over the years, including Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and have been touted as one of the 40 Welsh bands to listen out for in 2014 by Wales Online. The band have also released a new single and have been selected to play DimSŵn festival this year in Cardiff.

Also on the bill are South Wales indie four-piece, Rainbow Maniac. The charismatic quartet opened The Factory’s Rhondda Rocks festival in August after winning their Battle of the Bands competition and were subsequently signed up to the SWB Artist roster. The band have also featured a number of times on Wales Online’s New Music Playlist and are renowned locally for their brilliant live shows.

Opening Rhondda Underground on Friday are bluesy rock trio Vulcan 3. Relative newcomers to the local music scene, the band are already racking up a lot of gigging experience and played Cardiff’s HUB Festival earlier on in the year in the The Moon Club.
