RCT Arts and Creative Industries Team are proud to present Search for the Rainbow Young Peoples Art Exhibition.

During lockdown 2020 local budding artists were encouraged to take part in our art competition which hopes to develop their aspirations, self-esteem and confidence. We had a brilliant response which made picking the winners extremely difficult due to the talent and high standard of each piece.

The art submitted by your young artists will go on display at their own exhibition in The Workers Gallery, 99 Ynyshir Road, Ynyshir, Porth, CF39 0EN from the 10th of June. The project run by the Youth Arts Project Co-ordinator Jessie Jenkins is a new annual initiative that will become a flagship programme in our delivery.

We would like to encourage parents, family and friends to attend the gallery between the 10th and the 12th of June to vote for our ‘Peoples Choice’ Award. This is the piece of art that will also take centre place with the winners which has been voted by the people.

The exhibition will be on display at The Workers Gallery from the 10th up until the 26th of June which allows you around 2 weeks to visit to see all of the pieces on display. Opening times of the gallery: Thursdays – Saturdays between the hours of 11am – 4:30pm.

After the 26th of June the physical exhibition will then leave the museum and go on tour. This means that people in nursing homes, care homes and other facilities will be able to admire their work. At the end of the exhibition in the gallery the pictures will be displayed at an online exhibition on the Cynon Valley Museum website.
