Elisabeth Claira Heath Sladen died on the 19th of April from cancer. Elisabeth was an English actress best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in the British television series Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Smith adventures, she appeared as a regular from 1973 to 1976, opposite both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and reprised the role many times in subsequent decades, both on Doctor Who and its spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures. On the 1st of January she played the first episode of Sarah Jane Smith adventures and it was called Invasion of the Bane. The BBC made a pilot to see how many viewers they would receive and viewer ratings went though the roof, so they kept on going until she started getting ill as she had cancer. Half way though the new series It was then confirmed Elisabeth Sladen died on the 19th of April 2011. She will be sadly missed by both young and old fans of both Dr Who and Sarah Jane Smith adventures.
