The Penrhiwceiber Film Festival was a five week display of all things Welsh in the world of the silver screen. The event was held in the newly developed Penrhiwceiber Hall which has been given a £25,000 grant to buy new equipment and give the hall a brand new lick of paint.
The whole concept of the festival was make people realise what great things Welsh people can do. Some of the films shown at the festival were such classics like How Green Was My Valley, Twin Town and Zulu. And to top things off, the organisers managed to get Hollywood actor Michael Sheen to pop along and give advice to aspiring film-makers.
The festival has been deemed a great success with great ticket sales due to its weekly segment on BBC’s hit television programme X-ray.
As the Wicid Welsh month draws to a conclusion, I hope that all the team and other contributors have shown to you, how great Wales really is!
