The Wales Air Ambulance

Hello, I’m back after a short break away.

Whilst I was away down my caravan in the Gower, Swansea, I came across the Wales Air Ambulance. I donated some money as the service relies on our funding each year to try and raise £6 million to operate the three helicopters in Mid, North and the South of Wales. From their bases in Swansea, Welshpool and Caernarfon they can be airborne within 3 minutes. They can fly anywhere in Wales within 20 minutes and from any incident in Wales they can arrive at any hospital within 16 minutes.

The Wales Air Ambulance is the national air ambulance service for Wales, providing emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injuries, 365 days a year.

I was already familiar with the service as a member of their team came to my school and educated us about this fantastic, vital service. I also became familiar to the charity service through TV.

I am a loyal viewer of ITV Wales’ ‘Helimeds’ program which is now back on our screens next Friday for a third series, its camera crew follows the remarkable work of the paramedics and their team as they save lives daily. This year ITV News anchor Andrea Byrne swaps the comfort of the Wales At Six studio to take on Helimeds as she presents this years addition to the program. I will be watching this series and I hope you do too.

Watch it: Helimeds on ITV Cymru Wales next Friday (September 5th) at 8pm.

I hope you realise from what I have spoken to you about within this article, is that this is a charity, it is funded by the people of Wales, they need us to help them save time and save lives. The golden hour is vital to the patient who is in need of treatment and the golden pound is vital to the paramedics and the crew of the Wales Air Ambulance! It only takes £1 to make a difference to this service. Please donate to this charity, thank you so much if you do!

I thank you for reading, diolch yn fawr.
