Who Are Service Children?

A Service Child is a young person below the age of 16 who attends a mainstream school, other education (pupil referral unit, home tuition, group tuition) or special school in RCT.

  1. A child who resides permanently with one, or more, parent currently serving in Her Majesty’s Forces* below the age of 16.
  2. A child with one or more deceased, previously serving, parent of Her Majesty’s Forces below the age of 16.
  3. A child who resides permanently with one, or more, parent who has served within the last 6 years in Her Majesty’s Forces below the age of 16.

*Army, Air Force and Navy (regular and reservist).
