Thank you for getting in touch. I understand how you must be feeling and it’s common for people to feel that work consumes most of their time. People often find difficulty in finding a good balance between work and leisure and it can negatively affect our mental health if we don’t have time to relax and do the things we enjoy.
The Youth Engagement and Participation Service works with and provides opportunities for young people aged 11-25. As you’re 24 years of age, you may attend any of the service’s extended provision (youth clubs), which run during weeknights and give young people access to a variety of activities. For more information, please see the Rhondda extended provision timetable here – https://www.wicid.tv/whats-on/rhondda-extended-provisions/
Depending on your interests, social media and the internet are great tools to discover events, activities and networks of like-minded people. It may be worth doing some research online around your interests to see what might be going on in your area. Here are some useful resources that you may find useful;
Another way to find out about events and things going on in your area would be to visit your local library – there will be a number of events, activities and educational, vocational and hobbyist courses held there and the staff will be able to give you more information on these.
Keeping busy and having a good time doesn’t always mean spending money – it could mean inviting a friend round and simply having a chat! It’s all about giving yourself that time to relax and taking your mind off work.
I hope this has helped and if there’s anything else I can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch again.
Take care, dear
