Zoom are calling out for 25 young people 14+ who have a basic knowledge around film making or animation through participating in some activity already with a keen interest to further develop their skills in all aspects of film and animation.
The young people will work in groups of 5 with a professional filmmaker to support and guide them.
The Young People will then work together to research Creative Industry companies in Wales who provide content for TV and work together to develop their own idea through a teaser taster to pitch back to companies.
This will give young people the opportunity to develop new content ideas from their perspective based around research on the under representation of young Welsh people on the screen.
The young people will then participate in: Story creation sessions, acting for screen, directing, pitching, technical training in all aspects of film making, research, managing budgets, set visits (tbc nearer the time), pre-production, production, editing, post production, presentation, Q&A’s with creative industry professionals.
Why am I asked to apply?
Because you will be supported by quality artists and industry professionals to help develop your creative, technical and administrative skills, whilst learning about all aspects of digital broadcasting. Competition will be fierce; this is not to be missed if you have an interest in the media!
Where is the project taking place?
The project will be based at The University of Glamorgan, Treforest campus, Pontypridd.

What happens next?
Your application will be looked at along with all the others. Zoom will make a decision on who gets a place to take part in the project. We will let you know asap.
Does it cost anything?
No the whole course is free! And you will gain so many valuable skills. Lunch will also be provided each day. There will be some bursaries for travel costs if you are coming from afar!
